Spaghetti Soban Series

STUDIO EDITION PIECEs 2026

First presented during Milan Design Week 2026 as part of Fragments Becoming, Studio Booboon’s solo exhibition.

Inspired by the Korean soban, a portable low table traditionally used for tea and dining, the series reinterprets its intimate scale and mobility through the language of European coffee and side tables.

This series is made with three different materials: silk, canvas cotton and linen, hand-coated with Korean Ottchil lacquer. All of the series are cut into long spaghetti cords, and woven over a mould using waxed thread. The surface is finished with a stained oak wood top.

Through the lacquered linen, natural gradients and irregular patterns emerge, creating a quiet rhythm across the woven structure.
